Quiet Luxury: Timeless Interiors That Last

Timeless interiors have a quiet luxury and a sense of soul that feels (and looks) beautiful for decades. Over the years, we’ve honed in what creates that “forever home” feeling: a mix of high-quality pieces (that actually fit your home), and personal touches that make the design a true, meaningful reflection of you. We’re going to talk about it today, and show you some of our favorite timeless home designs from over the years.

This warm, classic bedroom design is part of a historic home nestled in the center of Chapel Hill. The custom bed frame features a svelte curved headboard (an understated but so-elegant detail), plush custom upholstery and a wood trim. These quiet touches give the room a feeling of subtle luxury, and a retreat -like ambiance that never goes out of style.

Investing in Home

Creating interiors that last is an essential part of our process- we know that your home is an investment, and longevity matters. We source furnishings from select makers, where we know we can give our clients the best value and highest quality possible within their budget. By focusing on pieces that carry that perfect mix of quiet luxury, comfort, and personality, our hope is that they can become part of your family legacy: still solid and beautiful even decades down the road.

For this Chapel Hill townhome, we created the dining room from a blank slate. The design is centered around a curved banquette, which we hand-drew on site and then had custom-created specifically for this room. Paired with twin dining chairs in complementing upholstery, a classic dining table and vibrant art deco inspired chandelier, this room is will be stately and sophisticated for years to come.

High Quality, Locally Made

No one can really enjoy furniture that’s uncomfortable, stains easily, or falls apart at the first hint of real use (we’ve all been there!). Furniture is meant to actually be used and enjoyed in the day to day of life. Working with local furniture makers in North Carolina allows us to deeply customize furniture pieces for each client’s needs, and gives us access a level of quality that is nearly impossible to find in today’s world of “fast furniture”. It’s one of the most valuable services we can offer to our clients, and a key component of creating timeless designs that last.

When we were creating the design for this room, our client fell in love with one particular fabric that really brought her joy. She loved it so much, in fact, that we created the entire room design around it. A custom-made headboard is the centerpiece, with soft patterns in the wallpaper and custom rug. A reading nook with cozy twin swivels completes the room. And the fabric that started it all? The upholstered stools at the end of the bed. A timeless primary bedroom and a place for relaxing that brings them enjoyment every day.

The Right Fit

Investing in furniture that actually fits your space instantly elevates your home. It creates a deeply relaxing feeling of “this was always meant to be here”, and a cohesiveness that stands the test of time. The open living area in this urban high-rise was a the perfect spot to lean into selecting quality pieces that were made to fit. The generously sized custom sectional with room for the whole family is the unassumingly perfect piece that will always look polished and collected.

A Bit of the Unexpected

In a mix of new and old, the den of this historic Chapel Hill home is one of our favorite spaces, showing how satisfying and timeless a truly personalized design can be. No trends here- just solid, classic, comfortable pieces in all of our client’s favorite hues, complemented with some of her favorite personal items to add meaning and connection to the space. The pop of red in the custom console gives a little bit of the unexpected, something that can keep a timeless design feeling fresh year after year.

The inspiration for this room came from our wonderful client, who loved the idea of a room with warm chocolate walls. This color is a deep, rich neutral base that will never go out of style, especially when paired with classic furniture pieces and elegant patterns.
