Nature-Inspired Design: Dining Room Featured in Chapel Hill Magazine
How do we create luxury in a home design while also keeping it comfortable, and looking like real people live there? We fill it with personality and meaning. Sometimes called curated maximalism, this approach to creating homes that last has deep roots in the timeless tradition of pairing old with new: mixing modern with the traditional, heritage with contemporary. And most importantly, keeping it all anchored with a careful selection of meaningful, treasured items. This dining room design was a deeply personal creation for some of our long-time clients, and we were thrilled to have it featured in the latest issue of Chapel Hill Magazine.
Market and Moss- Restaurant Reimagined
This gorgeous restaurant transformation brought a brand new concept to life, and we are so excited to share how this space was completely reimagined into the vibrant scene that is Market and Moss. If you're local or you've been following us for a bit, you know that we've worked with Chapel Hill entrepreneur Annie Johnston, and also worked with her to redesign La Vita Dolce Cafe (home to the most delicious coffee and gelato ever). When she had the vision for a brand new local fine dining restaurant, she approached us about working together again for a perfect custom-designed space. We couldn't say yes fast enough!
Occupying Wall Space: Placing Beautiful Art
Over many years of looking at spaces both new and old, we've seen our fair share of tall walls, long halls, and blank surfaces. Large empty space can feel pretty lonely (especially these days), and even if it's just one or two walls, it usually isn't something anyone wants to stare at for an extended period of time. Whether it's a new build, a redesign, or a session of focused space planning, clients have come to us in all phases and stages for help decking the walls. This is something that comes with the territory of Full-Service Design, and one of the (many) great things about this is that it has given us a great deal of practice in sourcing, selecting, and placing unique, custom wall art. But rather than just throwing some stock pictures up there and calling it good, there's a method to our process and a lot of consideration that goes into how we make art a meaningful part of the design vision.
