Cat French Design is an award winning high-end interior design firm dedicated to creating unique, functional, and vibrant living spaces that reflect the individual style and needs of our clients. We believe in a collaborative design process, where creativity and client input meet to produce well-designed spaces that are warm and inviting. We are looking for an Interior Designer to join our team of creatives as we take on new projects.

Responsibilities:

●  Client Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their tastes, lifestyles, and design aspirations. Assist the Lead Designer during regular meetings and consultations to gather feedback and ensure alignment throughout the project.

●  Design Conceptualization: Assist the Lead Designer in the development of innovative and personalized design concepts that incorporate both functionality and creativity. Present concepts to clients with the ability to articulate and defend design choices.

●  Project Management: Oversee multiple projects concurrently, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Assist the Lead Designer to ensure seamless execution. Upload all backend documentation on a consistent basis.

●  Space Planning: Assist the Lead Designer in space planning to optimize the functionality of interior spaces while maintaining aesthetic appeal. Create detailed floor plans, layouts, and renderings to illustrate design concepts.

●  Material and Color Selection: Curate a palette of materials, finishes, furnishings, and accessories that align with the client's vision and bring a sense of vibrancy and fun to the design.

●  Budget Management: Adhere to project budgets created by the Lead Designer and client, ensuring cost-effectiveness while delivering exceptional design quality.

●  Construction Selections: Collaborate with the Lead Designer, trades, and the client to design and source construction selections for renovation and new-build projects that create a cohesive and beautiful design throughout the home.

●  Furniture Selections: Collaborate with Lead Designer, vendors, and the client to design and source custom-made furniture and fixtures that elevate the uniqueness of each project.

●  Quality Assurance: Maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the design and implementation phases, ensuring that the final result aligns with the client's expectations and the firm's reputation for exceeding expectations.

●  Stay Current: Keep abreast of the latest design trends, materials, and technologies. Share insights with the team and incorporate innovative ideas into projects.

●  Installation and Zhuzh: Work with the Installation Manager and Design Team on Installation Days to provide clients with a turnkey experience from start to finish.

Requirements:

●  Bachelor's degree in Interior Design.

●  At least 5 years of prior experience with residential projects in the interior design field, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse residential projects.

●  Based at the CFD studio in Chapel Hill, NC 40 hrs/week, Monday-Friday. Some travel for out-of-town projects may be required.

●  Commitment to a career in Chapel Hill. We will be investing significant time and effort in training, so we are looking for a long-term relationship.

●  Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Chief Architect, and Adobe Creative Suite.

●  Knowledge of construction and architectural principles.

●  Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and team members.

●  Strong communication and organizational skills.

●  Project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

●  A passion for design, creativity, and a keen eye for detail.

●  Flexibility and adaptability to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client.

●  A commitment to staying updated on industry trends and a willingness to innovate.

●  Professional certification in interior design is a plus.
