All Things Home Design
Redesigned | The Updated Bathroom
A beautiful, updated bathroom is on many a homeowner's wish list - and for good reason, too. Because although it may be a small space, an updated bathroom with a super clean, streamlined design can give the entire home a huge lift. Small space can still mean big impact if the design is right, and we are here for allll that strategic goodness.
Design Impact | Kitchen Renovation
A total kitchen renovation can completely change the feel of an entire home. When it comes to big design impact and high-function spaces, kitchen design can be that perfect sweet spot for making the most of your time and budget. And as designers, creating a complete transformation within an existing footprint brings in that good ole’ design challenge that you know we love to love here at CFD.
Behind the Scenes: Custom Home Design
Today we’re here talking ALL things custom-designed homes! Building a dream home from the ground up is an incredible process, and we are so fortunate to get to be part of this journey with our clients. For some, it’s about that perfect space they’ve been dreaming about for years, and for others, it’s about having a beautiful house that fits every need, created just for them.
Community by Design | WCHL Calendar and Hope Renovations
We are so excited to share some news with you. Our studio has partnered with our local radio station, WCHL, to highlight an incredible local non-profit in our area, Hope Renovations. We wanted to share a little bit of backstory about why we wanted to promote the service that Hope Renovations provides to our community, and how their work intersects with Design.
Outdoor Spaces | Hot Tub Home Addition
Living the outdoor dream means something different to everyone, but this custom outdoor space and hot tub(!) is a custom home addition that would have anyone ready to permanently relocate to their own outdoor oasis. Created specifically for a busy family home, this design was much more than a hot tub landing pad- it was a seamless and beautiful extension of the home itself.
Market and Moss - The Big Reveal
Big design and incredible food go hand-in-hand at the inspired ambiance of Chapel Hill restaurant Market and Moss. We started to dive into this large-scale renovation and redesign last week (check it out here!*) and today we're showing you all those inside looks here in the last big reveal of this complete transformation. Follow along with us as we give you a peek into all of the beautiful details that made this space complete.
Market and Moss- Restaurant Reimagined
This gorgeous restaurant transformation brought a brand new concept to life, and we are so excited to share how this space was completely reimagined into the vibrant scene that is Market and Moss. If you're local or you've been following us for a bit, you know that we've worked with Chapel Hill entrepreneur Annie Johnston, and also worked with her to redesign La Vita Dolce Cafe (home to the most delicious coffee and gelato ever). When she had the vision for a brand new local fine dining restaurant, she approached us about working together again for a perfect custom-designed space. We couldn't say yes fast enough!
The Modern Coastal Keeping Room
Creating a seamless transition from room to room is one of our favorite facets of a perfectly finished space, and this beautiful Modern Coastal Keeping Room was the perfect opportunity to work that creative design flow. With a bright, open area encompassing the kitchen, dining room, and keeping room, writing a gorgeous color story and weaving in those fresh coastal details made this entire space feel synchronous, polished, and complete.

When it comes to great bedroom design, comfort and beauty go hand in hand- and that's what we love the most about this neutral-inspired bedroom retreat. With plush texture and gorgeous tones tucked into every corner, this serene spot is crafted to be its own relaxing world. We're taking you on an inside look at this gorgeous scene, from the tonal color-scape to the layers, light, and carefully chosen design nuances that bring it all together.
New Traditional Living: CFD in Chapel Hill Magazine
This New Traditional Living design for an incredible family was a dream project in and of itself. But when the folks at Chapel Hill Magazine said they were interested in showcasing this wonderful couple and their beautiful, New Traditional Living style home in the December issue- well, we just could not have been more thrilled. For us, doing our very best work and seeing homeowners so happy with their custom design is what it's all about.

The year-end hustle is in full swing here in the studio! It's a bustling time, with lots of projects at many different stages. Living Room Style | Modern-Traditional
This living room design came together as such a beautiful fusion of modern and traditional style, we couldn't wait to share all the details with you. Although we work with clients all over the Eastern US, our studio and home base is in the heart of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and we love it when we get a chance to create beautiful spaces right here in our hometown.
Dining Room Design: Sip and Savor with Style
It's a BRAND-NEW project, and we are so excited to share it with you! The dining room was only part of this gorgeous home design, but as the holidays approach, there's no better time to share this beautiful gathering place. Whether you are having a small gather or hosting this year, there's plenty to be said for making it a beautiful, inviting space (especially this year, as a lot of us are staring at our own rooms more than we have in years past).
Falling for Orange: Design Color Crush
Fall color is all around, and today we wanted to give some much-deserved love to orange-inspired design. While we don't always think of this hue as a traditional staple of the home design color palette, orange can be so much more than just an October one-off. When placed with creativity, art and skill, it's a design bombshell that can bring glamour and glow to any space.
Designing Wall Color: Why We Love the Paint Consultation
Y'all, we are excited! (all the jazz hands emojis over here!). It's no secret that we love color in design especially wall color. And in this time of year that is all about change and transition to new autumn hues all around, we get even more dazzled by the way color can transform a room, a vision, and an entire home. The science and theory behind the perfect color choice for each space is something that we never stop exploring, and continues to be one of the most requested interior design services in our studio year after year. So this month seemed like the perfect time to post it up about all things colorful design, and how we can help you find the perfect hues that you will love for a lifetime.
